Solution Summary:
Follow the procedure below:
Solution Details:

By default, Windows Explorer opens showing the user’s default Documents folder.  To default C:\ directory instead, do the following:

  1. Click Start,
  2. Click All Programs and then Accesories
  3. Right click Windows Explorer, and click Properties
  4. Modify the Target field to read %SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /n, /e, C:\
  5. Click OK.

If you use Windows Explorer as much as I do, you might want to add it to your Quick Launch:

  1. Click Start
  2. Click All Programs
  3. Click Accessories
  4. Right-click on Windows Explorer
  5. Click Add to Quick Launch
